Hello you! My name is Richard Sandling and I am an award winning comedian. I am also a writer, film reviewer, film maker, musician and performance poet. I used to be the official film reviewer for myspace (hey, remember myspace?) and I have been involved in the odd thing you may have seen on the telly.

I am one half of Kiosk of Champions with Stuart Goldsmith and I am the alter ego of Hip Hop Poet sensation Spak Whitman.

I run a gig called Richard Sandling’s Perfect Movie every month in London which is a stand up comedy show all about films where comedians have to do film based material. The show includes live re-enactments of comedians’ favourite film scenes and audience interaction. It is good fun – check out the upcoming dates in my gig list as well as short videos from the nights in the video section.

My stand up comedy is mostly about films and cult TV and I have three solo shows about my love of videos under my belt to date. They are VHS: Death to DVD, VHS 2: Planet of the Tapes and VHS 3: Video Nasty.

I also genuinely love and collect videos. I have over 5000 videos in my collection and particularly like the big box, ex rental, uncertificated ones.

Other than comedy and films my other main interests and hobbies are comic books, world cuisine, classical history, Basque culture, cephalods, esoterica / forteanna, martial arts and Victorian - mid 20th century ghost stories and detective stories.

I am originally from Benfleet in Essex – and I still live there
